25. London Planning Awards winner

At the London Planning Awards 2013-14 ceremony on 4th Feb. 2014, LA architects, Barratt London, the London Borough of Lewisham and Pellikaan Construction received the ‘Best Built Project – Community Scale Scheme’ award for the newly completed Glass Mill Leisure Centre.

The project demonstrates how, through partnership, good & exciting architecture can be delivered. “This kind of project, which draws in both residents and the larger community, is demonstrative of the beneficial and productive effects that planning can have.”

Judges commended The Glass Mill, which opened in summer 2013, for its “transformational impact on the wider area, benefits to the local community, design and ingenuity."

We are delighted and congratulate the whole team who worked hard to deliver this exceptional project for the Community of Lewisham.

Cllr Alan Smith, Lewisham’s Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said:

“We’re delighted that The Glass Mill has triumphed at this year's London Planning Awards. This is actually the fifth Lewisham Council project that has received a Planning Award in recent years, and just goes to demonstrate how much innovative, high-quality development is taking place across the borough.”
