Saltdean United FC

Formed in 1966, drawing inspiration from England’s victorious World Cup campaign of that year, Saltdean United FC continues to attract a strong and loyal membership, a passion which is reflected in their growing status within the Football leagues.

With this success has come the need to modernise the scope, design and configuration of their facilities, and LA have been working with the Club to develop an offer which better meets their needs and those of the local community, encouraging people of all ages and genders to engage in the sport, and ensuring a sustainable future for the Club.

Sited on the edge of the South Downs National Park, the project includes a new clubhouse providing modern changing, welfare and social facilities; a new all-weather 3G pitch; spectator facilities to meet the Club’s league aspirations; and a safe and secure site for the Club. Its sensitive location as informed the clubhouse design which takes its cues from the local rural vernacular whilst responding to the planner’s desire for a dynamic building form.
